We are just 100 days away from 100 years

On October 31, 2009, we were  just 100 days away from February 8, 2010.

We know that the 100th Anniversary Celebration has already begun?just thinking of the nearly 7,000 Scouts joining me in Sacramento for last weekend?s 100th Anniversary Scout march to the state capitol really gets me pumped! But this is an important reminder that the date of the most important Scouting milestone any of us will see in our lifetimes is just three short months away.

Now is a great time to assess your engagement in our 100th Anniversary activities. Every Scout, volunteer, Scouting professional, community supporter, and most especially our Scouting alumni has an opportunity to be part of this fantastic celebration?earning Year of Celebration ribbons, nominating Scouting heroes to the Hall of Leadership, telling family stories, registering as alumni, planting 100th Anniversary trees, setting up geocaching events, or joining local events.

Next year there will be even more opportunities with Adventure Base 100, A Shining Light Across America, and Pitch for Scouting.

We need you to be our ambassador for the 100th Anniversary. Get involved. Inform people about the anniversary. And, invite them to join the celebration.

Thanks,
Bob Mazucca
Chief Scout Executive
