2016 Camp Card Campaign!

Camp Cards are a discount card for vendors’ products or services.
They are specific to your city with the discounts listed on each card.
Each unit can order cards for any city so if family/friends live in another town, you can sell them a card for their location.
This is the quickest and easiest way to raise funds for your Scouts’ needs.

Each card sells for $10.00.
The unit gets $ 4.50 from each sale with the balance going to the producer of the cards and to council.
That means if a Scout sells 20 cards, $90 stays with the unit.
These cards are annual discounts and are good for the whole year.

These cards can be ordered/requested starting NOW. Anticipate the number of cards wanted and place your order.

A $50 deposit is required at time of order and will be applied against your total order.  All money is to be turned in by May 31st. Unsold cards are to be returned at this time though the unit may purchase the cards and continue to sell during the year. More Info CLICK HERE

Boseker Scout Reservation Camp Emerson Council Wide Work Weekend

Hello Folks,

I’ve got a few things for you today.

First, take a look at the flyer for the 2nd annual Boseker Scout Reservation Camp Emerson Council Wide Work Weekend.  Or BSRCECWWW… ok, let’s just call it the annual Camp Work Weekend.  Less words and all.

The Cahuilla Lodge, many of you are members, is sponsoring this work weekend up at Camp Emerson.  This is Memorial Day weekend.  The goal is to get as many Arrowmen (and Arrowchicks) up to camp as possible on that weekend, whether it be for the day on Saturday or for the entire weekend to camp.  There’s plenty to do up at Emerson to get it ready for the Summer Camping Season, and the more hands the lighter the workload for everyone.  Please distribute this information to your vast network of spies…er I mean Commissioners and get the word out.

Troop 646's Winter Camping

In January, Troop 646 camped out at Castaic Lake. The Scouts practiced their Scout Skills, using knots and lashings to complete their "Useful Camp Gadgets" for Rank Advancement.

Most of the Scouts went fishing and for some of the Scouts, it was their first time doing so. As usual, the food was a big hit and the Scouts cooked "Beef Stroganoff" & "Chicken Pot Pie", while the Adult Patrol made "Chicken Tortilla Pie" in the Dutch Ovens. The weather was great until Sunday morning, it started to rain pretty hard. We packed up and headed for the Golden Arches, since it would have been too difficult to cook and clean in the weather. The Scouts enjoyed their breakfast and we got to dry out a bit before the ride home!

February's camping trip took us to Lake Perris for a "Bike N' Camp" Outing. The weather was perfect on this outing, which everyone was very happy about!  Saturday morning after breakfast, the Troop took a 7 1/2 mile Bike Ride in and around Lake Perris. We were supposed to go around the Lake, but it was closed, due to construction on the Dam. So, we went with "Plan B" and just rode as far as we could, then rode back to the other side, took a lunch break and rode back to camp. We were only missing about 2 1/2 miles from our original plan. The Scouts did work on some Rank as well and as for the food this time, again, it was great! The Scouts BBQ'd Hamburgers for dinner over the open fire. On Sunday, the Scouts took some time cleaning their Patrol Boxes since they got a bit dirty from the January campout.

The Troop is looking forward to our next campout over Spring Break, which will be at San Clemente State Beach!

Christy Eimen, Assistant Scoutmaster

Positive Quote & Prayer
-------------------------------

"I can give you a six-word formula for success: Think things through - then follow through."

   ~  Eddie Rickenbacker (1890 - 1973) American Aviator & Business Executive

“God, thank you for Spring and for the hope of warmer, longer, brighter days.

Thank you for the coming of growth and life and birth. Thank you that things are coming awake in the world.

Now we ask that you would bring into reality all that belongs in this season.

Your word says that we will have provision, and hope, and joy, and health, and loving relationships here and now in this life.

Now we ask that what belongs in this season would become actual in our practical lives.

We hope in you and in your promises. We hope in your gift of Spring.”
