2016 Scout Golf Classic

The BSA 8th Annual Golf Classic was held last Monday, June 13th at Western Hills Country Club in Chino Hills, California.  We would like to extend a special Thank You to our major sponsors:  Trails End Popcorn, Tampico Beverage and Farmers & Merchant Bank.  Our players had a fabulous time and the weather was just perfect! Miguel’s Jr served as our Breakfast Sponsor and their breakfast burritos were tasty and filling.  Congratulations to our 1st Place Team - Randy Tan, Eric Jones, Johnny Patino and Michael Jan.  Curt Kidwell’s Team came in 2nd followed by Famers & Merchant Bank Team lead by Robert Camerota who came in 3rd Place.  We couldn’t have held this great tournament if it wasn’t for our Golf Committee Chair, George Anasis and his great team:  Karla Hollenbeck, Joe Fellin, Carl Burns, Phil Mortensen, and Patricia Cox.  Thank you all for a job well done!

Work Day Weekend at Camp Emerson

On Saturday, June 11, volunteers from multiple units (representing Cub Packs, Scout Troops, and Venturing Crews) and from multiple Districts came together at Camp Emerson to assist in assembling the frames for the new camp tents. At the beginning of the day, there was a big pile of lumber, but at the end of the day, there were 20 new frames. No one was injured, everyone had fun, and Ranger Nancy provided a wonderful lunch and dinner for the group. We were all very proud of our contribution to the camp!

Flag Day Celebration

Last Tuesday, Troop 2000 was joined by Scouts from Crews 1110 & 641, Troop 110 and Pack 588 in a historical remembrance of Old Glory at the Fontana/Rialto Elks Lodge’s annual Flag Day Celebration. All the flags that have flown over this country from the “Don’t Tread on Me” to the current Stars and Stripes were marched in and their history shared. After the ceremony the Scouts performed a moving flag retirement ceremony. It was a wonderful collaboration among units to pay tribute to our great country.

Positive Quote & Prayer
-------------------------------

"I am only one; but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; I will not refuse to do the something I can do."

~  Helen Keller (1880-1968) American Writer

God, bless all the fathers in the world.
Guide them to be good role models
and loving to all their children.
Help them to be a father like You are.
Give them grace and patience
to handle situations in a loving way.

Amen!
