Summer Job Opportunity

Good Evening Scouters,

Bass Pro Shops in Ranch Cucamonga is seeking to hire part time employees for the summer.  They prefer to hire Boy Scouts and Scouters due to our work ethic – they have had several folks with a BSA background work in the past with very good results.  Pat Rogers (“Peaches”) is one of the Scouters who is a current Bass Pro Shops employee.

To apply for one of these positions, the minimum age is 18 years old.  The hours will be evenings and weekends through the summer.  The position could lead to full time employment.

For further information and to apply, contact Bob Minor at (909) 922-5501 or by e-mail at Manager_Rancho_CA@basspro.com.

Please pass this along on to any Scout or Scouter who might be interested in the opportunity for a summer job

Primitive Camping & Good Turn Weekends

Dear Esteemed Scouters,

WE NEED YOUR HELP! Camp Helendade requires a lot of cleanup after the heavy snowfall this winter and unauthorized access to our facility. We ask that you join us May 13th and/or June 10th, 2017 at Camp Helendade in Running Springs for a cleanup weekend! We need help with fire abatement, trash cleanup and organization. Any unit that would like to join us please contact Cynthia Blessum @ blessumcr@pacbell.net or fill out the attached form and return to the Jack Dembo Scout Center.  Gloves, shovels and rakes are encouraged.

Free camping is given at the camp if you put in volunteer hours. There is no water at camp so be prepared for primitive camping! Pack it in pack it out, leave no trash. There are two porta potties available, no other amenities.

Can’t join us this weekend?  We meet for a cleanup each month and welcome your involvement! We look forward to your continued involvement, and appreciate everything that you do to make the Boy Scouts the best youth program in the country!

For more details please see below!

Sincerely,

Cynthia Blessum

Positive Prayer & Quote
--------------------------------

A blessing and prayer tribute to all mothers
"Blessed be all mothers
Who have come into our lives
Whose kindness, care and loving
Remain with us to guide.

Your inspiration in us
Made us strive in every way
Especially to remember
Helping others makes our day.

Mothers, this little tribute
Flows directly from my heart
You are so loved and cherished
Invaluable, one and all, you are.
~Susan Kramer

"The secret of sound education is to get each pupil to learn for himself, instead of instructing him by driving knowledge into him on a stereotyped system."
