Monday Memo

Joseph Daniszewski
Scout Executive

Good day and welcome to our June 8th Monday Memo

1. New Look for National BSA Website

I?m very excited to announce that the newly redesigned BSA Web site, www.scouting.org, is live. This new site is specifically designed to better serve our key target audiences while addressing core business objectives of leadership, membership, and funding. The design puts visitors just clicks away from shopping, donating, or visiting a local council Web site.

Here are just a few of the new features:

?         Information on how to join is positioned foremost on the site.

?         The site has  new, more robust search engine

?         Social media links can be found on each page, with quick access to Scouting Community, RSS feeds, the new national Facebook page, and Twitter feeds.

?         Alumni can quickly reconnect and reengage with Scouting through the new NESA and Alumni social communities.

?         The new ?Scoutcast? page serves as a hub for multimedia assets, including podcasts, Value of Scouting, CommissionersCast, CubCast, and more.

This is an exciting time for the BSA as we move further into the digital arena. This new structure is simply the first step. Watch for more updates coming soon!

2. In Remembrance of the Scouts

In remembrance for the Scouts who were at Little Sioux Scout Ranch on June 11, 2008, and for those Scouts who were lost, Aaron Eilerts 14, Ben Petrzilka 13, Josh Fennen 13, and Sam Thomsen 13, Councils throughout the country will be lowering their flags to half mast.
