The California Inland Empire Council is pleased to announce our revised Camp Emerson schedule for the Month of July. Due to the recent events of the COVID-19 pandemic, the California Inland Empire Council is required to suspend camping and outdoor operations for the month of June at Camp Emerson. As we navigate through the many scenarios of reopening Camp Emerson, the following dates have been established to run our Scouts BSA Resident Camp and our Cub Scout Family Camp:
July 12 – 18, 2020 | Scouts BSA Resident Camp (formerly Session 2)
July 19 – 25, 2020 | Scouts BSA Resident Camp (formerly Session 3)
July 27-29, 2020 | Cub Scout Family Camp – Session 1
July 30 – Aug 1, 2020 | Cub Scout Family Camp – Session 2
Aug 2-4, 2020 | Cub Scout Family Camp Session 3
Effective immediately, you may sign up for these sessions, or if you are already registered, be able to adjust your reservation to the dates specified above. If a cancelation of your 2020 reservation is necessary, you can transfer your reservation to a future 2021 date, or apply for a full refund. All changes and refund requests must be submitted no later than May 31,2020.
We have received many requests to how the California Inland Empire Council will run program elements at Camp Emerson. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we must wait until further guidance is released by the County of Riverside Public Health Department before we can make changes to our program delivery. We will follow all guidelines that are provided and run a safe camp for all that attend. Here are some of the COVID19 prevention measure we anticipate during camp operations to keep everyone at camp safe.
Our Camp Staff team lead by Camp Director Jordan McCandless, and Program Director Kelly Cromwell are meeting weekly (virtually) with their camp staff to prepare and develop many scenarios that will provide all Scouts an outstanding program at Camp Emerson.
All California Inland Empire Staff are currently working remotely from home.
